Google has recently made its video-conferencing platform Google Meet free for all. The platform allows up to 100 people to join a virtual meeting with no time limit. To use the video calling tool, all one needs is a working email address.
Google via a Twitter post has shared a small tutorial that helps people set up a virtual meeting on Google Meet. So, if you are looking forward to using this Google’s video-conferencing tool, here’s a step-by-step guide. You can also host a Google Meet video call directly from the gmail. To know how, click here.
- For G Suite users: Sign into a G Suite account.
- For non-G Suite users (using Google Meet with a personal account): make sure you have a Google Account.
Google Meet video meetings can be scheduled using Google Calendar. Simply visit the https://calendar.google.com/calendar/.
Here select a date and time for when you want to schedule a meeting.
Now, click on ‘Create’ and add title for your meeting
Add guests by clicking on ‘Add guests’. Or alternatively click on ‘Add Google Meet video conferencing’.
Now, add the email address of the users you want to invite.
Once the email IDs of all guests are added, click on ‘Save’.
Then press ‘Send’ to notify them about the meeting’s invitation.
Click on the saved invite and ‘Join with Google Meet’ to attend the meeting.
Please note that guests can also forward the meeting link to other people. If someone tries to join who was not invited to the Calendar event, a meeting participant from your organization must accept their request. For meetings organized by a personal Google Account, only the meeting creator can admit these participants.
